ROBBIE2MS

I had lived in Lochgelly all my life until the 20th of August 2017 when due to the house my wife Shirley have lived in for the last 29 years became unsuitable for our increasing health needs. We had our names on the housing list for a disabled bungalow in Lochgelly for about 10 years without any success. A disabled bungalow became available in Cowdenbeath so we jumped at it. So that`s where we now live. I am married to Shirley, I have 2 daughters, 4 granddaughters and a grandson. I have had an Ileostomy since 1980 and I also have MS, Fibromyalgia and a few other health problems. I use my car (a Motability Ford Galaxy with hand controls and a hoist to get my scooter in) and my scooter to get me about and take photos and videos of the countryside around South Fife.

I have had some nasty comments about the wind farm spoiling the photo so I have taken it and Mossmorran out of the photo. Are you happy now.

About us

Loch of Shining Waters was formed and launched on 1st January 2010 as a hyperlocal to deliver local community based news for Lochgelly and Central Fife. The name of the project is derived from the Gelly Loch. The word Gelly is from a Gaelic word; ‘Gheallaidh‘ which loosely translated means ‘Shining Waters‘ or ‘Loch of Brightness‘. We chose this name to mark the significance of our local heritage and environment which has given the town its namesake.

Our work primarily deals with local community based news, transparency & accountability of elected representatives and the local authority, technical support and development, partnership work with other like-minded groups and individuals, community engagement and development, and hands-on volunteering work within the local community.
