Hi Terry, sorry I’ve not been on for a while. I filled in the questionnaire but have a lot to say in the comments box. I was a researcher so it’s easily for me to point out the short-comings. But it’s a start. I am sorry I haven’t been able to help as much as I wanted to but my health was really bad before the cancer! Interesting – 2 years in Lochgelly and cancer diagnosis.

Oh I wondered what happened to the reports of the study that showed Lochgelly as having the lowest life expectancy in Scotland – I didn’t imagine them, it was even in the local news.

Hi chbeveridge, thanks for commenting. We’ve noticed shortcomings in the study as well, it’s a start though and hopefully it will help get some answers locally.

Regarding the health part of the study, we chose to ask about certain illnesses that are listed as short & long term exposures of pollutants emitted, but the survey does not address if this is connected to operations at Mossmorran. The health questions were more general just to get an idea of the range of illnesses in the local area, rather than to try and discover if it was connected to plant operations.

We are hoping the data collected will help provide grounds for additional and more robust/focused studies. Hopefully the people with authority to do so, will look at the results when they are published and see there is a need to address local concerns.

I just wonder who all the guests are and why they don’t register. Obviously careful of their anonymity – for some reason. I’m sure many for personal and professional reasons – but I bet there’s at least one ‘you know who spy’. Christine

Most of our traffic is generated from the UK, with at least half from the local and surrounding areas. About a quarter of traffic is generated from outwith the UK, some is ex-Lochgellyians, whilst other is just people looking at the images and downloads with no particular interest in the area. Checking IP addresses, some of the traffic is generated from the local authority and corporations operating in the area.

Just discovered your site while looking for information on Little Raith Wind Farm and just wanted to say how impressed I was with the range and quality of the content.
