Lochgelly Tae kwon do chief instructor Robert MacGregor has just been promoted to 5th dan in Tae kwon do, following a grading exam by Grand Master Sheena Sutherland and Master Alexander Dunbar.

The grading consisted of a written thesis, and a physical test including performing several patterns (what Karate students would call Kata), sparring, kicking combinations and power test (breaking boards using hand and foot to show power, focus and spirit).

Mr. MacGregor had been preparing for this exam for over 7 years now, and intensively so for the last 2 months.

The club now have 4 students very close to taking their first dan, so expect 4 new black belts within the next 12 months. If you want to find out more, or experience Tae kwon do for yourself, please get in touch using the details on this site.
