ExxonMobil has issued an apology to local communities for the current flaring event in a statement shared with local councillors.

ExxonMobil has issued a holding statement to all local councillors serving on the Cowdenbeath Area Committee apologising for the latest flaring event which it has blamed on a “process upset”.

Councillor Darren Watt updated residents by sharing the notice he received from ExxonMobil through his official Facebook page, there has been no updates from the other 7 councillors serving on the Cowdenbeath Area Committee.

As yet the nature of the emergency is unknown as no technical details have been provided. No information has been provided for the expected duration of the flaring process.
