The Power Sharing Agreement between Fife SNP and Fife Labour includes a Programme for Administration which sets out a series of objectives to be carried forward under the theme heading: Local Communities and Decentralisation.

Local Communities and Decentralisation

1. Further develop local community planning and community participation in the council’s budget setting process through a wider participatory budgeting approach

2. Move to sustainable 3 year funding agreements with voluntary groups providing vital services in our local communities and protect and invest in the voluntary sector where there are shared community planning outcomes

3. Devolve further decision making and budgets to Area Committees

4. Campaign for a Community Right of Appeal against planning decisions

5. Support the development of co-operative enterprises and community initiatives based on co-operative principles in our local communities

6. Develop further area regeneration initiatives through Area Committees and develop a charrette series for Fife

7. Continue our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
