Just in is this news from Lochgelly Councillor Ian Chisholm:

“Massive majority vote at NHS Fife meeting today on options for a new Lochgelly Health Centre. All groups voted for the Francis Street new build option. Our community group of Lochgelly councillors and community reps were unanimous in backing the Francis Street option. Health workers and Services the same.

It’s a big step forward in developing a business case to put to the Scottish Government but there’s still a long way to go. There’s going to have to be public consultation and also the economic pros and cons of the various sites need to be assessed.

Francis Street has the big advantage of reinforcing the Square, the Businesss Centre and the Miners Institute as the centre of town. It needs an iconic building.”
