A consultation by British Telecommunications has been launched for the removal of public payphones across Fife.

Public payphones have been earmarked for removal in the Lochgelly area at Bank Street and Lumphinnans Road and other areas across Central Fife.

Fife Council are currently collating responses from the communities that are affected by the proposals and will maker a formal response to BT on behalf of communities. Fife Council are asking respondents to identify one of the following options (as well as any other comments and/or reasons for your decision):

  • Agree that the removal should go ahead
  • Object to the removal
  • Wish to adopt the phone box

Responses made to Fife Council should be sent by Friday 14th October 2016 to Alan.Blackie@fife.gov.uk. The consultation will continue by BT up-to the closing date of 7th November 2016.
