The Lochgelly Community Christmas Lights committee is holding their annual switch-on at the Lochgelly Cross on Wednesday 25th November 2015.
The event officially starts at 5:30pm with the lights due to be switiched on at 6pm, followed by a short parade down to the Town Hall where there will be a range of activities, including Santa’s Grotto.
Music will be provided by the Lochgelly High School Pipe Band and the LHS Brass Ensemble, both at the switch-on and in the parade.
Town Hall Event: 6:10pm
Glow sticks will be provided to Primary school children (and aged below) completely free.
Organisers would like to highlight that any street vendor selling glow merchandise is not part of the official event and strongly encourage residents to approach volunteers on the night to get free glow sticks for their children.
At the Town Hall, teas and refreshments will be available, and a variety of activities will be available, including Santa’s Grotto, Raffles, Tombolas, stalls and information booths.
Some of the attendees include;
- Community Shop
- Lochgelly Going Forward
- Haiti Nurses
- Lochgelly Musical Society
- South Primary School – Parent Council
- Jewellery Stall
The committee has worked hard to raise funds and purchase more lights for Lochgelly to extend along the Main Street and look forward to seeing residents at the switch-on.
