FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002 – REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (Reference: FCIR:8721)

Please Note: The information provided is based on the figures for financial year 2013/14 in order to report on a full financial year.

1. The number of staff employed by Fife Council, who were paid more than £70,000 per annum, was 21.

2. The number of staff employed by Fife Council, who were paid more than £50,000 per annum, was 93.

3. The total number of staff employed by Fife Council in 2014 was 22,344.

4. I am unable to provide information relating names of all senior staff paid over £70,000. Under the provisions of Section 38 (1) (b) of the Data Protection Act 1998, this would fall into the category of personal data where the first condition is satisfied; This information falls within the definition of “data” and the disclosure of the information to a member of the public otherwise than under this Act would contravene the first data protection principle.
