Health Boards and Local Authorities across Scotland are preparing to join up health and social work services.

This is required by the Scottish Government’s new health and social care integration Act (Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014) which comes into effect from April 2015, with full integration starting on or before 1 April 2016.

The new Scottish Government Act requires each partnership to identify and define the localities across which joint services will be planned. The Act states that we must have at least two ‘localities’.

To plan health and social care services effectively for the future, Fife Council and NHS Fife launched a consultation on Monday 11 August which will run until 3 November 2014. This will identify and define the ‘localities’ across which joint services will be planned.

Please get involved by going online to complete the survey at www.fifedirect.org.uk/integration
