A couple of videos of still images created by YouTube user Huggy176 highlighting the flats, now long gone, at Berry Street, Dryburgh Place, Wildridge Way and the surrounding areas. The videos show some of the positive changes in the local area and serves as a good record of what Lochgelly used to look like.

Great videos, a real trip down memory lane 😉 Had forgotten just how awful some of the flats were! Thank goodness they’ve been demolished, some architects have got a lot to answer for eh?! Wildridge Way, you could hear folk 2 floors down! I remember having to scrape the ice off the bedroom windows from the inside! Also discovered a huge hole in the outside wall after removing a flimsy bit of plywood from the larder, had wondered where the draft came from! Funny looking back, we were all pretty skint at times, not much changed there then 😉
