Planning for the Lochgelly Gala is well under way by the Lochgelly Community Development Forum, with a range of initiatives to secure enough funds, to ensure that Lochgelly has another succesful gala day.
Chairperson, Eileeen McKenna says ‘We have been working hard to arrange activities for the gala, from running local events, to running the charity shop. The charity shop is currently being refurbished, thanks to local improvement grants recieved from Fife Council, and is expected to be open in two weeks time. The local support we have recieved has been fantastic‘
‘Currently, we have been working with a variety of groups and individuals to create a Variety Show at the Lochgelly Centre, which includes Alex Lawson & Friends (old & new), Lochgelly High School musical department, the Pipe Band, Wind Band, and a Celtic group. The night is packed with a variety of local talented musicians and entertainers‘
The Variety Show is being held at the Lochgelly Centre on Tuesday 4th June 2013 starting at 7pm, with all funds raised going to support the Lochgelly Gala.
‘The evening should be a wonderful event showcasing the young musicians and artistic talent available in the Lochgelly area. We are expecting large numbers on the night, but would like to remember people that they should purchase tickets before the night to guarantee a seat‘
Tickets are currently being sold through the Lochgelly Centre for £5, tickets can be purchased online at: http://www.onfife.com/events/variety-show-aid-lochgelly-gala or by telephoning: 01592 583 303.

Treasurer, Helen Ross adds ‘It’s always hard work arranging these events, including the gala, but the support we recieve from other local groups and individuals make it all worthwhile, especially when we see how happy the Gala makes a large section of the community. We hope people will come along to the variety night and help support the talented young people, that are giving their time to help support the Gala for the wider community to enjoy‘
