The group has managed to obtain new lights for Lochgelly and will be working towards extending the lights along the main street.

This year, the lights will be switched on at the Lochgelly Cross at 6:00pm, 21st November. Before the lights are switched on, the Lochgelly High School band will be performing from around 5:30pm.

At 5:45pm there will be a carol service which is being led by Bill Paul and Friends of the Lochgelly Musical Association. The carol singers will be accompanied by the Lochgelly High School Wind Band.

The Christmas message will be delivered by St Serfs (Macainsh Church).

After the festivities at the Cross, glow bands will be handed to the children for a Torch Light Parade down to Lochgelly Town Hall for a range of activities.

Fund Raising stalls will be available with all proceeds going to support the Lochgelly Christmas Lights. The winners of the Christmas Raffle will be announced, and a range of refreshments will be on offer.

Mr & Mrs Claus will also be at the Town Hall to help spread the Christmas magic to the children.

Between 6:30pm-7:30pm there will be a disco at the Town Hall for the children which is provided by Alex Lawson and George Courts.

All in all, it will be a busy and active night for families and promises to be bigger and better than last year.

The group would like to thank all the individuals, groups and businesses that have helped arrange and support the lights, and have made a special mention for the donations received from Fife Council, Ore Valley Housing Association, Baynes the Bakers, and Lochgelly & Benarty Credit Union.

A full announcement recognising the contributions from everybody will be posted soon.
