Posted on behalf of the Fife Ethylene Plant

A phased start-up of the Fife Ethylene Plant will commence over the next few days after its shutdown.

As we re-start the plant there will be periods of flaring. Wherever possible this will be routed through the ground flare system to reduce the impact.

We apologise if, despite this, we cause any inconvenience or concern to our neighbours. The flare is an essential part of the plant’s safety systems and at no time will there be any danger to local communities or the workforce. We would like to assure you it is our aim to keep flaring to a minimum.

If you have any questions please call Public Affairs on 01383 846341 during normal office hours (09.00 hrs. to 16.30 hrs.). For queries outside these hours, please call 01383 737000 and we will return your call.

Admin Note: We also advise that any concerns during this period should be reported to SEPA so they can keep track of local community concerns or complaints, and investigate any local issues. You can contact SEPA on:
