When our group started raising issues regarding Little Raith Wind Farm, we held meetings with Kennedy Renewables.

During the meetings, Kennedy Renewables always distanced themselves from any issues with the planning application. As they stated the plans were submitted by West Coast Energy, therefore any planning issues is the responsibility of West Coast Energy as Kennedy Renewables had only recently taken over the development.

We were also told that West Coast Energy were no longer involved with Little Raith Wind Farm. However, there is currently three companies, listed as active, for Little Raith Wind Farm.

Company One

The first company is Little Raith Wind Farm Limited which was registered on the 11th March 2002. Accounts are available up to 31/03/2011 with the next accounts due on the 31/12/2012.

Registered Address: Bow CHambers, 8 Tib Lane, Manchester, M2 4JB

Key Financials

Cash at Bank: £28,444
Net Worth: -£411,238
Total Current Liabilities: £1,931,752
Total Current Assets: £36,980

Directors

Mr Stephen Richard Klein
Mr David John Challinor
Mr Adrian Christopher Kirk

All 3 directors serve on the boards of the various businesses created by Brian Kennedy, so it is fair to assume that this company is wholly owned by Kennedy Renewables and part of the Kennedy empire.

Company Two

The second company is Little Raith Wind Farm Extension Limited which was registered on the 24th August 2010. Accounts are available up to 31/03/2011 with the next accounts due on 31/12/2012.

Registered Address: Mynydd Aweld Mold Business Park, Maes Gwern, Mold, Flintshire, Wales, CH7 1XN

Key Financials

Cash at Bank: £100
Net Worth: £100
Total Current Liabilities: £17,762
Total Current Assets: £3,060

Directors

Dr John Anthony Fernley
Mr Andrew Mark Dickman
Mr Geraint Keith Jewson
Mr Robert Paul Tate

Geraint Jewson and Robert Tate are both connected to West Coast Energy, we could find no connection to West Coast Energy with John Fernley and Andrew Dickman, but we feel it is safe to assume this company is managed by West Coast Energy, especially since the address is shared with West Coast Energy.

The name of the company is of some concern, as the financials show that the company is not currently involved in any heavy investment, but with the term ‘Extension’ in their name, is there already plans to extend Little Raith?

We did ask Kennedy Renewables and their answer was, that they do not know, they may or may not, we will just have to wait and see what the future brings.

Company Three

The third company is WCE Little Raith LLP (West Coast Energy Little Raith Limited Liability Partnership) which was registered on the 7th May 2010. Accounts are available to 31/03/2011 with the next due date on 31/12/2012. Currently the company, under the Accounts Category is listed as; Total Exemption Small.

Registered Address: Mynydd Aweld Mold Business Park, Maes Gwern, Mold, Flintshire, Wales, CH7 1XN

Key Financials

Cash at Bank: £0
Net Worth: £0
Total Current Liabilities: £0
Total Current Assets: £0

Directors

Mr John Alexander Gaca
Mr Neil John Exton
Mrs Mary Bethan Czulowski
Dr Michael Colin Tough
Mr Karl Russell Lee
Mr Stephen Brian Salt
Mr Neil Anderson
Mr Nick Yencken
Dr John Anthony Fernley
Mrs Paula Marian Jewson
Mr Geraint Keith Jewson
Mr Robert Paul Tate

All the directors are connected to West Coast Energy with all their registered addresses listed at the business premises of West Coast Energy, apart from John Fernley with the only connection is that he is serving on the last two companies.

The third company has our interest the most due to it’s Limited Liability Partnership status, the fact that the company is active yet is financially dormant, but has the most directors.

Why three companies for Little Raith?

So why is there three companies for Little Raith Wind Farm? It must also be asked, why has Kennedy Renewables insisted on several occasions that West Coast Energy are no longer involved in the Wind Farm, when there is currently two active companies connected to the Wind Farm managed by directors connected to West Coast Energy?
