A small group of Lochgelly Tae kwon do members competed at “The Gathering” a Tae kwon do tournament in Perth on Saturday 11th of September. In spite of the small team they took home a good haul of medals to Fife.

There were three competitors from the “Little Ninjas” class (4 to 7 year olds); Brendan McGuinness, Joe Howard and Simon Dick all got medals in their first big competition, competing in team sparring and individual sparring events and all of them showed great fighting spirit, even when faced with much taller opponents.

Three of the clubs’ adults also competed; Craig Mellis won bronze in white and yellow belt sparring in his first ever tournament, David McDonald won bronzes in both green belt sparring and patterns and Bryan Jeffrey won gold in blue belt patterns and bronze in sparring.

These adults, along with 14 others in the class, and several from the other clubs of Kingdom Black Belt Academies will be tested this week for promotion grading by the club instructor Robert MacGregor (4th dan) and Mr. Peter Scott (5th dan).

Any enquiries about the club should go to bobmac108@hotmail.com, or via the contacts page of the website www.kbba.co.cc or by phone/text to 07838 363550.
