The next Community Council meeting is to be held tomorrow at the Royal Oak Community Club. The meeting will start at 6:00pm to officially recognise and award the Citizen of the Year and the Young Citizen of the Year for 2011.
After the Citizen of the Year ceremony, it will be business as usual with the Community Council business starting from 7:00pm.
We do not have an agenda for the meeting, but top of the agenda will be selecting a secretary for the Community Council.
Without a secretary the Community Council cannot legally function as a community representative group, and the last meeting failed to fill the role. Without a secretary the public cannot get in touch with the Community Council.
If the secretary role is not filled, we are unsure if the meeting will be continued or if the meeting will have to be closed.
Mossmorran & Little Raith Updates
If the meeting is to continue, there will probably be an update regarding Mossmorran, and the survey local councillor Mark Hood is conducting regarding the issues surrounding Mossmorran. If you haven’t completed the survey yet, you can fill it online at: http://www.markhood.org/mossmoran-survey
Little Raith is also likely to be discussed, as the previous meeting, health issues were raised from members of the public and we have raised our own issues of concern regarding the time line of the consultation process.
The Community Council represent the views of Lochgelly to Fife Council, so we are trying to encourage more people to attend the meetings to raise any issues of concern, and to hold the Community Council accountable and transparent to the local community for decisions they make on behalf of everyone in Lochgelly.
