We have just had an interesting chat with someone about Lomond Homes and the development soon to be proposed at the Avenue. Lomond Homes Ltd which is located at: Unit 1, Lomond Business Park, Glenrothes Fife, KY6 2PJ also shares the same address as a newly formed company named Lomond The Avenues Ltd, company number: SC357706.

This company which will be treated as a separate legal entity to Lomond Homes is currently putting in a development proposal for the land between New Farm Vales and The Avenue.

The question it may raise is why a new company has been formed by Lomond Homes for this new proposed development?

Creating a separate legal company is sometimes referred to as Shell Companies. We have found a good link to information on Shell Companies, which is available at: http://www.fraudauditing.net/ShellCompanies.pdf.

Shell companies are often associated with fraud. Although they are legal entities that do have a legitimate function in business operations, shell companies are also utilized by criminals to facilitate fraudulent activities. Such activities include money laundering, billing schemes, fictitious service schemes, bankruptcy fraud, tax evasion, and market manipulation.
