John PedenThe Lochgelly Community Council has awarded Mr John Peden as the Lochgelly Citizen of the Year for 2010 at a special ceremony, where he was presented with a trophy by Chairperson Eileen McKenna.

This award is given each year to someone in the community. It is an honour given from the people of Lochgelly.

John is renowned throughout Lochgelly for his volunteering work. He has dedicated all his life to helping others.

John has worked for over 25 years as a volunteer helper/driver with special needs groups, the Double H and the Memphis clubs, also for a number of years, has assisted the mother and toddler groups by setting up their play equipment.

John also makes time to help the Salvation Army, and any group or member of the public that needs help, John is always there.

Congratulations to John Peden for being recognised for his commitment to the local community.

    It is great to see somebody in our community being recognised for all their hard work. Well done to Mr Peden, and indeed the many other people who take time to help others.
