The Lochgelly Gala will be starting at 12 noon on the 22nd August at the Public Park. There will also be a parade to kick start the Gala. The Lochgelly Community Development Forum have been working very hard to arrange this, so we hope they manage to get a sunny day to help make this day a success.

Local Groups

The Lochgelly Brass Band are participating and there will also be a display by the Lochgelly Tae Kwon Do group. Other groups participating include the Scouts and local cat rescue group; Sunny Harbour.

Activities

There will be a range of activities available to cover a wide range of ages. There will be an assault course for the older youths and plenty of fun activities for younger kids.

The LCDF have arranged for some of the activities to be completely free, which is a nice welcome and change from other Galas in the surrounding area, where activities have been charged.

Access is provided free and other than the activities, there will also be a range of stalls and displays.

Gala Bags

Gala Bags are still available to buy from the shop at the old Post Office building, as well as some others, but don’t worry if you haven’t got your Gala Bag yet, there will still be some available on the day.

Taking Part

There is still time for local groups to offer to put on a display, run a stall, or some other activity. If you have an idea for something that you think will be good for the Lochgelly Gala, please contact the LCDF on: 01592 783 442

Capturing the Event

A couple of our volunteers will be attending to capture a range of images from the day, which will be published online in our galleries.

We are looking forward to attending the Gala and it should be a fun day for all those going along.
