We would just like to say thank you to the Lochgelly Community Development Forum for organising an excellent Gala for Lochgelly. We know that months of planning and preparation went into the Gala, and it was good to see all the hard work had paid off.

The parade was small, featuring the Dunfermline District Pipe Band and the Lochgelly Brass Band, but was well backed by the local community who joined in the parade, and by the time the Parade arrived at the Public Park, we were surprised at how big an event the Gala was going to be.

The LCDF managed to provide free activities for kids, and there was a range of activities for teenagers and the rest of the family. Jim Leishman attended the Gala and judged the fancy dress winners. All the staff of the LCDF were in fancy costume, and there was a wide variety of stalls available and funfair rides. We would like to thank the LCDF for allowing us to capture images on the day, which we have now shared on our Lochgelly Gala Gallery page (a sample has been provided below).

This was an excellent return for the Lochgelly Gala and I am sure it exceeded most peoples expectations. The Gala would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of the Lochgelly Community Development Forum and for this we would like to thank you for creating a special day for all of the Lochgelly community to enjoy. We look forward to next year.

Photographs

We captured over 300 images of the Gala day, while we have uploaded at least half of them to our Lochgelly Gala Gallery page, we are going to be passing on the full set to the LCDF.
