While we believe we should have received notification from Fife Council that the small store had been put in for appeal due to their letter stating; The applicant has the right of appeal to the Scottish Government against the decision or any conditions attached. If this occurs you will be notified However, one of our volunteers has received a letter from the Scottish Government (published below), which shows that the appeal hasn’t went as smoothly as planned. Dear Sir PLANNING PERMISSION APPEAL: PLANNING PERMISSION IN PRINCIPLE FOR CLASS 1 RETAIL USE & ASSOCIATED PARKING, LAND TO SOUTH OF HALL STREET, LOCHGELLY, FIFE As an interested party to the above planning appeal, I am writing to let you know that the reporter appointed to consider the case, Mr Michael Shiel MA (Cantab) BPhil MRTPI, will be carrying out a site inspection of the appeal on Thursday 8 July 2010 at 10:00am. You are welcome to attend. Please note that the purpose of the visit is to become familiar with all the pyshical aspects of the site and the surrounding area. Although you can point out to the reporter the features of the site that relate to the appeal, the reporter is unable to enter into any detailed discussion about the case. You should also note, that this notification does not convey any right to enter property or land without first obtaining the permission of the owner. I trust this information is clear. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information. Yours Sincerely [name removed] Currently the plans are on hold until the reporter can view the site for themselves on the 8th of July at 10:00am, and this is a perfect opportunity and probably the only opportunity for the local community to put forward their objections or support for this planning development.
