Lochgelly is set to finally get their Gala Day back and this is thanks to the Lochgelly Community Regeneration Forum who have managed to source funds, and are busy organising the Gala day with the local community.

To make this Gala day a success, the LCRF are needing more input from the local community and are looking for volunteers to come along to meetings to suggest activities, help organise events, co-ordinate and plan the Gala, and help out on the day.

The LCRF are holding a meeting tonight at 6pm in the Lochgelly Regeneration Office (30/33 Bank Street, Lochgelly) to discuss the planning and way forward for a successful children’s Gala to be held on Sunday 22nd August 2010.

The LCRF are keen to hear your ideas and views and everyone is welcome to come along, they are also looking for a team of volunteers to help develop the Gala into something special for Lochgelly.

Lochgelly hasn’t had it’s own Gala for many years, which is a shame, as there is always complaints about the lack of facilities within the local area. This is one event that can help bring together the Lochgelly Community, provide our kids access to facilities, entertainment, even if it is only for one day, as well as showing that there is a strong community spirit that still exists within Lochgelly.

So if you are at a loose end, why not drop into the Lochgelly Regeneration Office, tonight at 6pm to discuss your views and ideas, take part, help organise and establish a Gala day for Lochgelly. If you cannot attend but would still like to present your ideas, show support, or just leave feedback please do so in the comments box below.
