Across the big pond, West Virginia, America, there is a small town named Lochgelly, and according to www.epodunk.com/cgi-bin/genInfo.php?locIndex=23591

Lochgelly is in Fayette County, in the Oak Hill metro area. The community was named after town in Scotland

So doing some searches through Google and Bing, we discovered that Lochgelly (WV) shares some common backgrounds with us. Lochgelly (WV) was once a proud coal mining town as well. Details were sketchy about the background of Lochgelly (WV), so we haven’t been able to gather much historical information, but we will look into it more and see if we can find some more comparisons behind the town including why they were named after us.
