STV has reported that a 21 year old woman has been in court, retelling her ordeal of rape in the Lochgelly area. The 21 year old told the court that she was raped by Robbie Grieve, Daniel Watson (both 18, and from Lochgelly) and Jamie Lee McLaren (16, Lochore) after drinking with family and friends at an address in Lochgelly. The 3 accused forced themselves upon her as she tried to sleep and filmed the incident. It has recently been reported that Fife has the 2nd highest number of CCTV cameras out of all the local authorities in the UK, after the group Big Brother Watch conducted a series of Freedom of Information requests.

Mossmorran has been fined £2.8 million for failing to report Carbon Dioxide emissions from the plant in 2008 according to the Courier. Mossmorran failed to report 33,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions in 2008, which only recently came to light, and SEPA issued the fine under regulations that state $100 (USD) per tonne of emissions is imposed, a total of $3.29 million (£2.8m GDP).
